As a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will play a critical role in engineering detailed design projects for both onshore and offshore operations, directly contributing to ongoing project needs and supporting the company's engineering operations.
Key Responsibilities
Design Basis, Code & Standard
- Apply knowledge of design codes and industry standards such as API, ISO, and ASME
- Resolve problems and troubleshoot based on codes and standards interpretation
- Understand limitations within codes and apply them accurately
- Interpret and provide solutions for client specifications and contractual requirements
- Review and clarify ITB/Client documents as needed
Rotating Equipment Knowledge
- Possess in-depth knowledge of rotating equipment commonly used in oil and gas, refinery, and related industries
- Demonstrate solid engineering competence in hydraulics, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, rotor-dynamics, and combustion
- Review vendor options and conduct detailed technical evaluations
- Assess and interpret P&IDs for in-house and vendor equipment
- Witness and provide feedback on vendor FAT/shop testing, resolving any discrepancies as needed
- Respond to Site Technical Queries regarding equipment engineering, installation, and completion
- Participate in HAZOP and address action points relating to equipment
Material Selection
- Understand various material types suited to specific service conditions (e.g. wet CO2, sour, low-temperature, toxic services)
- Review and assess vendor-proposed materials and input on material selection reports/corrosion studies
Working Deliverables
- Prepare calculation spreadsheets, technical data sheets, job specifications, material requisitions, and technical evaluations
- Generate equipment selection reports and provide input for multidisciplinary deliverables
Vendor Data Review
- Review vendor data to ensure alignment with standards, local regulations, project, and discipline requirements
- Interface with disciplines such as piping, process, civil, electrical, and instrumentation, to resolve interface issues and conflicts
- Conduct vendor data review meetings to support project progress
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. Hons)
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in engineering design for rotating equipment in onshore and offshore applications
- Preferred experience in Green Hydrogen, Electrolyzer, and Carbon Capture Storage Projects
- Willingness to travel and be stationed at various engineering operating centers or client offices, including potential overseas assignments
- 1-2 years of site or fabrication experience
- Strong relationship-building skills with clients, peers, vendors, and suppliers
- Good professional references from past employers or clients
