Job Title: Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer
Contract Type: 6-month contract with potential extension depending on project workload and approval
Start Date: October 2025 (subject to onboarding)
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Work Schedule: 8 hours per day (excluding 1-hour lunch break)
We are seeking a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to support engineering design and project execution for onshore and offshore energy projects. This hands-on technical role involves detailed design, vendor coordination, equipment testing, cross-discipline collaboration, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:

Apply international design codes and industry standards (API, ISO, ASME) to resolve technical challenges and ensure compliance

Provide technical evaluations of rotating equipment and vendor proposals, including performance reviews and bid tabulations

Develop engineering deliverables including calculations, data sheets, equipment specifications, material requisitions, and technical reports

Lead or participate in vendor data reviews, factory acceptance tests, and troubleshooting during equipment testing

Review P&IDs, layouts, and multidisciplinary interfaces to ensure accuracy and consistency

Support site queries, installation activities, and mechanical completion for rotating equipment

Contribute to hazard studies, technical audits, and quality investigations

Mentor junior engineers, review their deliverables, and provide technical guidance

Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and energy optimization
Requirements:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. Hons or equivalent)

Minimum 7 years of engineering design experience in rotating equipment for onshore and offshore applications

Exposure to green hydrogen, electrolyser, or carbon capture storage projects is an advantage

1-2 years of site or fabrication experience preferred

Strong technical expertise in hydraulics, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, rotordynamics, and related fields

Solid understanding of material selection for various service conditions (sour service, low temperature, toxic service)

Ability to collaborate across disciplines (piping, process, civil, electrical, instrumentation) and manage vendor interactions

Strong professional judgement, proactive communication, and ability to handle project complexities

Willingness to travel or be assigned to different operating centers or client offices
