Job Summary:
A leading global engineering and technology company is seeking a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to join its Kuala Lumpur team. The role involves detailed engineering design for onshore and offshore projects, supporting multiple engineering operations, and contributing to innovative energy solutions including low-carbon and sustainable projects. This position is ideal for experienced engineers with expertise in rotating equipment and a strong understanding of mechanical systems for energy and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge of design codes, standards, and industry practices (e.g., API, ISO, ASME) to project requirements.

  • Resolve technical issues and provide troubleshooting based on codes and standards interpretation.

  • Review client specifications and contractual documents; raise clarifications as needed.

  • Design and engineer rotating equipment used in oil and gas, refinery, or industrial applications, including onshore and offshore systems.

  • Evaluate equipment performance independently and review vendor proposals, limitations, and deviations.

  • Review in-house and vendor P&IDs to identify interfaces and provide recommendations.

  • Witness vendor factory acceptance tests (FAT), review reports, and provide technical feedback.

  • Respond to site technical queries related to equipment design, installation, and mechanical completion.

  • Participate in equipment/project HAZOP studies and implement corrective action points.

  • Explore cost-saving and energy-efficient measures during project execution or proposal stages.

  • Select appropriate materials based on service conditions (e.g., wet CO2, sour service, low temperature, toxic service) and review vendor proposals.

  • Prepare engineering deliverables including calculation spreadsheets, technical data sheets, equipment specifications, material requisitions, technical clarifications, bid evaluations, and equipment selection reports.

  • Conduct vendor data reviews (VDR) and coordinate with other disciplines (piping, stress, process, civil, electrical, structural, instrumentation) to resolve interface issues.

  • Provide inputs to weight data, foundation loads, utility requirements, and equipment interface details.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 7 years of engineering design experience with rotating equipment for onshore/offshore applications.

  • Experience with green hydrogen, electrolyzer, or carbon capture storage projects is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with hydraulics, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, rotor dynamics, and combustion analysis.

  • Ability to independently review vendor proposals and conduct technical evaluations.

  • Hands-on experience with site or fabrication work (1–2 years preferred).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and project teams.

  • Proficiency in technical documentation, calculations, and engineering software.

  • Willingness to travel and work at different engineering operating centers or client sites as required.

Additional Information:

  • Fixed-term employment with immediate start.

  • Site visits may be required; compliance with safety procedures and PPE is mandatory.

  • Positive professional references from previous employers or clients are preferred.
