Job Title: Senior Quality Control Engineer

Location: Offshore (rotation or site-based, as per project assignment), Qatar

Overview:
Join a leading international contractor on a major offshore oil and gas project. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional with a strong background in welding inspection and offshore quality systems. As Senior QC Engineer, you will oversee quality control personnel across project sites, ensuring all welding and inspection activities meet the highest industry standards and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Project QC Manager or Senior QC Engineer on welding quality issues and required revisions.

  • Coordinate with site welding foremen and QC teams regarding welding quality matters.

  • Ensure approved welding procedures are distributed and updated at all project locations.

  • Verify that welders and operators are properly qualified and trained.

  • Oversee welding activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures.

  • Confirm inspection instruments are available and suitable for project requirements.

  • Manage calibration of welding and test equipment.

  • Monitor implementation of the project quality management system.

  • Liaise with clients and third-party inspectors to resolve quality issues during project execution.

  • Ensure preparation and submission of final certification dossiers in accordance with contract requirements.

  • Support the Project Manager in allocating QC resources across project sites.

  • Provide leadership, technical guidance, and performance monitoring for QC personnel.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 6 years in offshore projects in a similar capacity.

  • Valid certifications: CSWIP 3.2 or AWS-SCWI; ASNT Level II in UT, RT, PT, and MT.

  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards including TWI, AWS D1.1, API 1104, API RP 2X, ASME IX, ASME V, ASME III, and API 650.

  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage inspection processes, and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
