Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Start Date: ASAP (Notice period is not a problem)
End Date: Annually Renewable Contract
Location: Olen, Belgium - 100% onsite presence required
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Overview:
Join a global leader in materials technology and be an integral part of the Project Engineering department. You will lead and manage technical industrial projects from inception to completion, including initiatives for production facilities, infrastructure, and R&D. Projects span various disciplines and stages, from start-up to ongoing execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define project scope and deliverables in consultation with stakeholders.
- Establish and lead multidisciplinary project teams.
- Oversee technical design for entire projects.
- Prepare specifications and tender documents for internal and external service providers.
- Select and coordinate orders, engineering firms, contractors, and outsourced partners.
- Direct and monitor resources, both internal and external.
- Maintain client communication throughout to assess and implement scope changes as needed.
- Report progress to all project stakeholders.
Technical Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years' experience as a project manager with full project responsibility for industrial projects.
- At least 7 years' experience as a (Project) Engineer (mechanical, electrical, piping, civil, etc.).
- Technical knowledge across disciplines such as electromechanics and chemistry is a plus.
- Mandatory experience in the process industry.
- Strong expertise with MS Project as a project management tool.
- Familiarity with all common project management aspects.
- Academic-level thinking (analytical, with strategic oversight).
- Strong administrative and reporting skills.
Non-Technical Requirements:
- Proactive, with strong leadership qualities for stakeholder and team management.
- Excellent communicator across all levels (clients, colleagues, suppliers, management).
- Experience in coaching and leading teams.
- Broad interest and background in technology, engineering, and project management.
Certification:
- VCA-Vol certification required.
Language Proficiency:
- Dutch: Native/Fluent
- English: Fluent
Additional Information:
- Onsite presence in Olen required; occasional remote work may be permitted upon approval from the hiring manager.
- International travel may be required, depending on project needs.
