This role is ideal for a senior professional with extensive experience managing complex capital projects in chemical, petrochemical, or process manufacturing environments.
Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading the full project lifecycle for major initiatives, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule. The role involves strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and leadership of multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage high-value projects from concept through design, execution, commissioning, and handover
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams including engineering, operations, procurement, and external contractors
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and change requests proactively
- Provide strategic guidance and support to senior leadership on project status, challenges, and solutions
- Ensure timely reporting of project progress, costs, and performance metrics
- Implement process improvements and lessons learned from previous projects
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and maintain effective communication across all project levels
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years' experience managing chemical or process manufacturing projects
- Proven track record in delivering complex capital projects within budget and schedule
- Project Management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent) preferred
- Extensive experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external contractors
- Strong knowledge of process engineering, manufacturing operations, and safety regulations
- Excellent understanding of project controls, scheduling tools, and risk management
