Senior Project Engineer - Qatar

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join a major offshore project team in Qatar. This is an office-based role, with an initial contract running until 2031. The successful candidate will provide engineering leadership and project management for process and facilities platforms, ensuring timely, safe, and high-quality project execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from a recognised university; higher degree is advantageous.
  • Membership in a recognised professional engineering or project management association is a plus.

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum twelve years of experience in engineering, project management, and execution of large-scale EPIC projects, preferably in offshore oil and gas.
  • Specific experience in process or gas compression platforms, including jackets, topsides, bridges, and associated structures.
  • Strong communication skills, including presentations, report writing, and effective meeting management.
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead project engineering and management for offshore platforms and facilities, ensuring alignment with the project management framework.
  • Prepare and implement Project Execution Plans.
  • Support project planning, budgeting, cost control, contract administration, progress reporting, change management, and stage-gate approvals.
  • Coordinate teams of engineers to review deliverables and resolve technical and engineering issues in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the preparation of scope of work, tender packages, evaluation of tenders, and provide recommendations to relevant committees.
  • Monitor performance and quality of work by contractors and vendors, initiating corrective actions as needed.
  • Contribute to risk management by identifying, mitigating, implementing, and closing out project risks and issues.
  • Manage project interfaces between contractors and stakeholders according to interface management plans.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE standards, regulations, and project quality standards.
  • Review contractor claims, recommend settlements of final accounts and contract variations.
  • Ensure timely project handover and completion, including punch list close-out, approvals, and final documentation for asset handover.
  • Prepare progress reports for internal reporting and presentations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and associates, ensuring proper training and development opportunities.
