Overview
An established energy operator is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to lead the end-to-end execution of subsea engineering activities. This position offers the opportunity to manage engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning phases for subsea pipelines, umbilicals, and power cables in shallow water environments.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing complex offshore EPIC projects, with a strong background in subsea systems, technical leadership, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all engineering activities related to subsea pipelines, umbilicals, and power cables from detailed design to commissioning and handover.
- Develop, review, and approve project deliverables including engineering specifications, drawings, procedures, calculations, and reports.
- Interface with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure technical compliance, quality, and timely delivery of project milestones.
- Oversee procurement, fabrication, construction, and offshore installation to ensure adherence to project requirements and international standards.
- Manage project risks, changes, and technical challenges by providing effective engineering solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards as well as relevant industry codes and regulations.
- Participate in HAZID/HAZOP, constructability, and readiness reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Subsea, or related discipline) from a recognised university. A higher degree is advantageous.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in subsea engineering and project execution within offshore oil and gas environments.
- Proven track record managing large-scale EPIC or EPCI subsea projects.
- Experience in shallow water pipeline, umbilical, and power cable systems.
- Strong understanding of the complete project lifecycle and offshore construction methodologies.
- Familiarity with international standards (DNV, API, ISO) and offshore safety regulations.
- Proficient with engineering and project management tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Valid offshore certifications (such as BOSIET, HUET) preferred.
Desirable Experience
- Prior exposure to major operator specifications and international contractor collaborations.
- Experience in subsea tie-ins, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Strong understanding of risk management, cost control, and schedule optimisation.
- Experience working within large, multi-disciplinary and multicultural project teams.
