Position: Senior Project Engineer

Location: Onshore - Ras Laffan, Qatar

Contract: 2-year initial term (possibility of extension) | 5 days per week, 8-10 hours per day

Start Date: ASAP

Role Overview:

Lead the planning, management, and execution of multiple brownfield modification and retrofit projects in accordance with Project Management System,  ensuring compliance with Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), quality, cost, schedule, and regulatory requirements for onshore and offshore facilities.

Reporting:

  • Reports to Section Head
  • Collaborates internally with Engineering & Projects Group, Operations, SHE, and Finance departments
  • Interfaces externally with regulatory bodies (RLIC), contractors, and equipment vendors

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in project strategy, concept selection, and planning; develop Project Objective & Strategy (POS), Capital Efficiency, Cost & Schedule Screening, and Project Development Memoranda (PDM).
  • Lead FEED activities, converting concept requirements into Basic Engineering deliverables, including Design Basis Memoranda and Engineering Specifications for EPC tendering.
  • Ensure correct application of brownfield project planning, interface management, quality management, and risk engineering.
  • Review and monitor construction strategies, contractor performance, onshore/offshore shutdown and non-shutdown activities.
  • Analyze project schedules and costs; identify critical paths, mitigation plans, contingencies, and recovery actions.
  • Manage approvals of Invitation to Tender (ITT), equipment vendor prequalification, and selection processes.
  • Support SHE initiatives, safety audits, and contractor performance monitoring.
  • Maintain compliance with firewall, anti-trust, and competition laws.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in project execution within brownfield projects, SIMOPS, and debottlenecking in operating facilities
  • Field experience at operational facilities, ensuring adherence to SHE and project standards
  • Proficient in engineering software tools and project management systems
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
