Role Purpose
The Senior Supply Chain Manager oversees the strategic and operational management of procurement, subcontracting, and logistics across major engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects in the oil and gas sector. The role is responsible for driving sourcing strategies, mitigating supply chain risks, and ensuring on-time delivery in alignment with project timelines, budget, and quality standards. The position demands strong leadership and stakeholder management skills to coordinate between engineering, construction, project controls, and vendor networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement integrated supply chain strategies to support project execution and commercial targets.
- Lead procurement planning and sourcing initiatives across engineering, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Oversee vendor management and expediting functions to ensure suppliers meet quality and delivery obligations.
- Execute contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and warranty protections.
- Monitor supplier KPIs, enforce compliance, and manage corrective actions for non-performance.
- Coordinate logistics and 3PL (third-party logistics) activities, including customs clearance and shipment tracking.
- Collaborate with project and planning teams to anticipate demand and reduce delivery risk.
- Drive cost reduction and value engineering opportunities across procurement and material management.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance and adherence to local sourcing laws and internal audit standards.
- Lead and develop a cross-functional supply chain team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for executive reporting on procurement risks, vendor issues, and material readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., MCIPS, CIPS) is highly advantageous.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 10 years total experience in supply chain functions.
- Minimum 5 years in EPC Oil & Gas supply chain leadership.
- Gulf region (GCC) project experience of at least 2 years preferred.
Technical & Functional Expertise
- Strong understanding of EPC procurement lifecycles, especially for pipeline and infrastructure projects.
- Expert in contract management, supplier performance evaluation, and negotiation.
- ERP system proficiency (SAP preferred).
- Familiarity with sourcing strategy development, logistics planning, and expediting.
