Overview
We are seeking a Senior Process Simulation Engineer to provide technical leadership across complex onshore and offshore energy projects. The role involves dynamic and steady-state process simulation, supporting process safety, operability, and control systems design. This position spans traditional energy projects and energy-transition developments, offering exposure to cutting-edge process design and operational optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority for dynamic and steady-state process simulation

  • Develop integrated simulation models linking topsides, pipelines, and flow assurance systems

  • Deliver simulation studies to support process design, control philosophy, and operational optimisation

  • Assess plant behaviour during start-up, shutdown, turndown, and abnormal or safety-critical scenarios

  • Define and deliver technically robust simulation scopes to meet quality, cost, and programme objectives

  • Provide simulation evidence to underpin control strategies, trip settings, and operating philosophies

  • Support HAZOP close-out, flare and relief design, and verification of safety-critical scenarios

  • Evaluate downstream impacts on compressors, flare systems, and critical equipment

  • Translate complex simulation outputs into clear, actionable recommendations for project teams

  • Support development of internal simulation tools, workflows, and best practice

  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, contributing to technical capability building

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in dynamic process simulation within oil & gas, energy-transition, or complex process industries

  • Strong expertise in HYSYS Dynamics, OLGA, or equivalent integrated simulation environments

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver technical studies and support FEED and detailed design phases

  • Experience developing or assessing control philosophies and operability strategies

  • Strong communication skills, able to present complex technical information clearly

  • Consultancy experience, working directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams

  • Ability to support and mentor junior engineers within a technical discipline
