Job Title: Senior Loss Prevention and Risk Engineer
Location: Doha, Qatar
Contract: Fixed term, 3 years
Job Purpose:
Deploy and implement asset-based process safety, loss prevention, and risk engineering objectives. Provide critical advisory and facilitation to ensure compliance with relevant standards. Support multiple assets and projects, including brownfield upgrades and major capital projects, to advance excellence in process safety and risk engineering.
Key Challenges:

Coordinate and implement process safety, loss prevention, and risk management strategies and policies compliant with evolving regulations and standards

Cover multiple locations and asset types (onshore, offshore, projects) with varying priorities

Operate independently using sound business judgment and company values

Ensure strict compliance with company policies, safety, health, environmental, and quality standards
Main Responsibilities:

Implement and manage process safety, loss prevention, and risk management programmes for assigned assets

Review engineering documentation and project deliverables for compliance with safety and risk standards

Facilitate hazard identification (HAZID), risk assessments, and prepare related reports

Lead and support safety studies including quantitative risk assessments (QRA), hazard operability studies (HAZOP), safety integrity level (SIL) assessments, and baseline revalidations

Collaborate with external consultants and internal teams to deliver high-quality safety documentation

Coordinate safety case and barrier management activities, ensuring effective safety barriers are in place and maintained

Review Management of Change (MOC) requests to maintain plant integrity and safety

Monitor key process safety performance indicators, analyse trends, and recommend corrective actions

Support the implementation and sustainability of operational risk management processes across assets

Represent process safety in project-related safety studies and technical reviews
Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, safety, or related discipline preferred)

Minimum 8 years’ experience in the oil and gas sector focused on process safety, loss prevention, risk management, and technical safety

Proven experience leading hazard identification reviews (HAZOP, What-If) and risk assessment techniques (qualitative and quantitative)

Practical knowledge of safe systems of work and emergency preparedness

Fluent in written and spoken English with excellent communication and leadership skills

Strong analytical and computer skills
