Job Title: Senior Process Engineer
Location: Qatar
Job Type: 6-month contract with potential extension
Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join a major international engineering team in Qatar. This is a leadership-focused position where you will guide process engineering design and execution across complex oil and gas projects. The role requires both technical expertise and the ability to supervise and mentor other engineers while working independently on challenging assignments.
Responsibilities:

Act as the senior point of contact for process engineering deliverables on assigned projects.

Guide and supervise engineers and designers in the execution of process work.

Prepare and review process deliverables including FEED concepts, design basis documents, technical philosophies, specifications, calculations, and reports.

Develop and review PFDs, heat and material balances, and process/utility P&IDs.

Coordinate with project management teams, vendors, subcontractors, and partners.

Participate in HAZOP studies and ensure designs comply with international standards.

Review design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation for quality and compliance.

Prepare and approve procurement documents including requisitions, bid evaluations, vendor reviews, and recommendations.

Support the preparation of control documents such as deliverables lists, man-hour estimates, and project schedules.

Contribute to project estimates, proposals, and the development of process knowledge databases.

Monitor scope changes and advise on their impact to cost, schedule, and technical delivery.

Provide mentorship to junior engineers and support professional development within the team.

Ensure all work meets health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.

Minimum 10 years of process design experience within oil and gas, preferably with EPC or consultancy companies.

Strong knowledge of industry practices, tools, codes, and international standards.

Hands-on experience with upstream and downstream oil and gas or petrochemical operations.

Previous exposure to site construction and commissioning is an advantage.
