Senior Planning Engineer
Location: Qatar
We are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to develop, maintain, and manage accurate project schedules and plans across various phases of engineering and construction projects. This role involves analysing progress, reviewing contractor planning submissions, and providing timely reporting to support project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain project planning and scheduling strategies, plans, and procedures for both company and contractor roles.
- Prepare preliminary project schedules and establish key dates for all project phases including Tendering, FEED, and Execution.
- Review and analyse contractors' initial planning packages, including schedules, networks, critical path analysis, and procedures.
- Maintain an overall integrated schedule for the project portfolio.
- Analyse monthly schedule submissions and provide input to overall project reports.
- Conduct schedule risk analysis, identify slippages, and propose mitigation actions.
- Review and evaluate revised contractor schedules, recovery plans, and extension of time claims.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress and verify reported progress.
- Support verification of claimed progress against invoices, variations, and change orders.
- Coordinate with cost control teams to ensure project cost phasing aligns with forecasts.
- Prepare contributions for integrated project reporting, including monthly reports and presentations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all organisational levels.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and planning skills.
- Knowledge of stage gate project delivery processes and ability to produce structured schedules for both brownfield and greenfield projects, onshore and offshore.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
