Senior Planning Engineer - Oil & Gas

Location: Qatar

Work Schedule: 5 days per week

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to support offshore structural fabrication and EPC projects within the Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive Gulf experience and a strong mechanical engineering background, with proven expertise in project planning, scheduling, and cost control across complex fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, scheduling, and cost control for offshore structural fabrication and EPC projects.
  • Manage project schedules, including critical path analysis, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and analyse project cash flow, invoicing, cost reports, and Earned Value Analysis.
  • Monitor productivity measurements and provide recommendations for efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate schedule risks and delays.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Utilise project management software and tools such as Primavera P6 and SAP.
  • Prepare and analyse forecasts, budget estimations, and EOT (Extension of Time) claims.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 10-15 years of overall experience, with significant Gulf experience.
  • Proven experience in offshore structural fabrication projects, including Jacket, Topside, Offshore Brownfield items, and Riser Stalk-Ons.
  • Strong analytical skills for project planning, cost estimation, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with project management and scheduling tools (Primavera P6, SAP).
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
