Job Title: Senior Planning Engineer

Summary:
We are currently looking for a seasoned Senior Planning Engineer to support large-scale oil and gas projects through all stages of the project lifecycle. This role will be instrumental in developing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring performance, supporting risk and change management processes, and driving progress reporting. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in planning and scheduling within the energy sector and a strong command of Primavera and project controls tools.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain project master plans and schedules from initiation through closeout.

Support project stage gate deliverables including execution plans, risk registers, and change management documentation.

Manage project closeout planning and contribute to final closeout reports.

Perform detailed project planning, scheduling, monitoring, forecasting, and reporting on a regular basis (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual).

Maintain project data in SAP to support group-wide reporting and analytics.

Deliver early warning indicators and drive proactive intervention with project teams to influence outcomes.

Maintain and update integrated resource plans using Primavera tools.

Define planning and scheduling requirements for tender documents and contracts.

Contribute to tender evaluations by reviewing bidder compliance with scheduling, man-hour allocations, resource loading, and reporting methodologies.

Review and endorse contractor planning packages including execution plans, resource strategies, and progress tracking systems.

Monitor contractor performance and conduct variance analysis on schedule and progress.

Recommend corrective actions to mitigate delays and enhance performance.

Conduct "what-if" scenarios and schedule risk assessments to quantify potential impacts and mitigation strategies.

Estimate monthly progress for value of work done and support service entry sheet (SES) submissions.

Provide scheduling input for annual budgets, forecasts, and variance reporting.

Assess time impacts of scope changes and evaluate contractor extension of time (EoT) claims using industry best practices.

Participate in the development and improvement of planning processes and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

PMP certification or equivalent preferred.

Minimum 15 years of project planning experience in the oil and gas sector.

At least 5 years of experience with National or International Oil Companies is desirable.

Proficient with Primavera (P6), Microsoft Office Suite, and SAP project tools.

Knowledge of Primavera Risk Analysis and Power BI is a plus.

Strong analytical and reporting skills.

Previous experience working in the GCC or similar international environments is advantageous.

Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management capabilities.
