Senior Planner – Major Green Steel Project
Location: Boden, Sweden
Contract Type: Annually Renewable Contract

The Opportunity

An internationally backed industrial venture is developing one of the world’s most advanced Green Steel production facilities in Northern Sweden — a cutting-edge plant that will reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 95% compared to conventional steelmaking.

To support this landmark project, we are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to take ownership of complex project scheduling activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases. This is an opportunity to directly contribute to a globally significant energy transition initiative.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and oversee the detailed integrated project schedule across all phases of execution.

  • Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure alignment with the master plan.

  • Support and supervise site contractors, ensuring planning and forecasting remain on target.

  • Provide detailed planning analysis, progress reports, and status updates to project leadership.

  • Identify potential schedule risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.

  • Collaborate regularly with area managers, site teams, and multiple stakeholders to maintain cohesive scheduling across disciplines.

  • Interface with stakeholders to ensure full visibility and control over critical path items and project milestones.


Key Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or a related technical field.

  • 5–10 years of experience in project planning, ideally with exposure to large-scale or mega-project environments.

  • Strong proficiency with Primavera P6 and a solid understanding of industry-standard planning methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor, and control complex project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

  • Skilled in risk identification, scenario planning, and schedule optimisation.

  • Experience managing planning for large industrial construction projects, preferably in energy, steel, manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with multi-disciplinary and multicultural teams.

  • Proactive mindset with the ability to foresee and address potential scheduling challenges.
