Job Title: Senior Planner
Location: Westminster, London, UK
Contract Length: 12-month renewable contract
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
Hybrid Working: 3 days in office, up to 2 days remote per week
IR35 Status: Inside IR35

We are seeking a Senior Planner to support the delivery of a high-profile offshore wind development programme, contributing to one of the most ambitious green energy initiatives in the UK. This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of a dynamic project environment, providing essential planning expertise across a complex, multi-package infrastructure development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Time Management Plan, contributing to the Project Management Plan (PMP).

  • Support the project team in building and updating detailed project schedules and human resource plans.

  • Ensure compliance with planning processes and project governance frameworks.

  • Perform ongoing schedule control, critical path analysis, resource planning, and forecasting.

  • Maintain alignment between package-level schedules and overall project milestones.

  • Review contractor schedules and provide performance analysis to support project decision-making.

  • Coordinate planning inputs across multidisciplinary teams, including tender support, contractor engagement, and interface alignment.

  • Input into project reporting, close-out documentation, and post-project assessments.


Specific Tasks

  • Establish, implement and maintain the Time Management Plan throughout project phases.

  • Develop detailed schedules incorporating project milestones, offshore installation sequences, and weather contingency using internal tools such as OptiLog.

  • Assist in preparation of tender schedules and ensure planning expectations are clearly outlined in contract documentation.

  • Collect and analyse progress data, including DPR (Daily Progress Report) updates during offshore activities.

  • Conduct scenario planning, quantitative schedule risk analysis (QSRA), float analysis and milestone tracking.

  • Maintain a Schedule Assumption Book and produce regular performance reports for senior management.

  • Facilitate effective communication between package teams and external suppliers to ensure schedule coherence.


Deliverables

  • Time Management Plan and inputs to the Project Management Plan

  • Regular schedule progress reports and forecasts

  • Human resource overview reports to project and package managers

  • Time Schedule Assumption Book and analysis outputs

  • Inputs to the Project Close-Out Report


Experience & Requirements

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience on large-scale construction projects in execution, ideally client-side

  • Strong track record of working with and managing contractors, including baseline approval, progress tracking, and interface alignment

  • Skilled in project planning tools, with a focus on Primavera P6

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate across internal and external stakeholders

  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and solutions-focused mindset

Desirable Experience:

  • Offshore wind or cable supply and installation projects (onshore/offshore)

  • Experience in project matrix organisations

  • Familiarity with contractor progress reporting and claims management

Qualifications:

  • MSc or equivalent in a relevant engineering or technical discipline

  • PMI-SP certification or equivalent competency preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in wind, infrastructure or major construction projects

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a project matrix structure
