Job Title: Senior Petroleum Engineer
Contract: 12-month secondment
Location: Residential, 5 days on / 2 days off
Compensation: Day rate, all-inclusive
Overview
An established oil & gas operator is seeking a highly experienced Petroleum Engineer to provide technical expertise in gas lift and ESP operations. The role focuses on optimising production, supporting field operations, and providing troubleshooting expertise in both onshore and offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate lift gas distribution during compressor outages and field restarts.

Provide gas lift design, operational support, and troubleshooting.

Maximise oil production using gas utilisation factors.

Participate in reservoir sector reviews and support production optimisation.

Provide additional support for ESP troubleshooting and well interventions.
Key Skills & Expertise

ESP specialist: selection, design, commissioning, operations, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.

Gas lift expertise: downhole gas lift system design, valve sizing, calibration, allocation, and production troubleshooting.

Well modelling and production optimisation: Integrated production modelling, simulation, and performance evaluation.

Knowledge of digital oil field tools for production monitoring, optimisation, and decision support.

Competent in beam pumps and PCP design, operation, and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with onshore and offshore process facilities and production operations.

Experienced in carbonate and clastic reservoirs, including well completions and stimulations.

Flow assurance: downhole scaling, asphaltene, hydrates, salt blocks, and wax deposition prevention.

Experienced with PVT data, production chemistry, corrosion mechanisms, and well integrity diagnostics.

Sand control strategy, intelligent completions, and tubing stress analysis.

Participation in data acquisition, sampling, surveillance, and daily drilling/workover activities.
