Senior Naval Architect – Hybrid – Hampshire (UK)
We are currently looking to speak with an experienced Senior Naval Architect to join a dynamic engineering consultancy working across energy transition and traditional offshore projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to floating structure design within sectors such as carbon capture, hydrogen, renewables, and offshore oil & gas.

Hampshire, UK – Hybrid working available (approx. 60% remote)
Key Responsibilities

Lead concept selection and design of floating structures across Basic, FEED, Detailed Design, and Execution phases

Oversee engineering and construction of FPSOs, FLNGs, and LNG carriers (new-built and conversions) in accordance with international standards and classification society rules

Prepare key technical documentation including Floater Functional Specifications, Design Briefs, and Scopes of Work for EPCI tender packages

Review ITT packages, support clarification meetings, and conduct technical bid evaluations

Perform hull structural assessments, hydrodynamic analysis (RAOs, QTFs), mooring design, and stability evaluations

Collaborate with internal engineering disciplines (structures, process, mechanical, CAD, etc.) to ensure integrated project delivery

Serve as the main technical coordinator for naval architecture aspects, ensuring design compliance and managing contractor interfaces

Attend coordination and technical meetings, and adhere to HSEQ policies and applicable design standards
Experience & Skills

Strong experience in offshore Oil & Gas, particularly with floating units such as FPSOs, FLNGs, and LNG carriers

Proficient in hull structural design and hydrodynamic behaviour of floaters

Skilled in mooring design (spread, turret, single-point), including systems for harsh environments (e.g. North Sea, cyclone regions)

Knowledge of topside structural elements (e.g. living quarters), layout, and outfitting design

Familiarity with engineering tools such as SESAM, MOSES, ORCAFLEX, and AutoCAD

Strong understanding of IACS, ISO, API, IMO, and DNVGL standards

Experience with installation analysis for fixed and floating systems is a plus
