Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Materials & Corrosion

Location: Qatar

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Chartered or Professional Engineer status preferred.

Experience & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of materials and corrosion engineering standards and codes.
  • Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality across multiple engineering projects.
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Materials & Corrosion Engineering activities across all project phases: concept, studies, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards, QHSE requirements, environmental regulations, and corporate assurance practices.
  • Review technical deviations and variations from approved codes, standards, and practices.
  • Support the review, update, and application of corporate and amended engineering standards.
  • Plan and coordinate engineering activities for multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate and review multidisciplinary work scopes, ensuring clarity and completeness.
  • Review and approve method statements from contractors; liaise to resolve technical issues.
  • Develop, update, and monitor in-house engineering schedules and contribute to external project scheduling.
  • Evaluate technical bid packages and review contract changes/variations for compliance.
  • Support the development of technical competency in self and colleagues, including training of junior engineers.
