Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Qatar

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Chartered Engineer status preferred or working towards it.

  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.

  • Proficient in mechanical design software such as Pvelite, CodeCal, or equivalents.

  • Well-versed with international mechanical codes and standards.

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years in oil and gas, both brownfield and greenfield projects.

  • At least 10 years in facilities design (front-end engineering, conceptual, and detailed design).

  • Minimum 5 years in project execution phases including construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance (with troubleshooting experience).

  • Knowledge of rotating equipment is essential.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and determine root causes of failures in static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, flares, filters, various packages, cranes, etc.) and recommend remedial solutions.

  • Support maintenance, asset integrity, and operations teams with daily troubleshooting and technical issues.

  • Manage Concept, FEED, and EPC design activities related to asset development projects, working closely with contractors and in-house teams.

  • Conduct remaining life and fitness-for-service assessments for static equipment.

  • Provide mechanical engineering inputs to major project teams regarding static equipment.

  • Ensure efficient project execution, proactive facility improvements, and adherence to technical integrity standards in line with industry best practices and company-specific requirements.
