Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Oil & Gas / Subsea
Location: Malaysia
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer with strong oil and gas or subsea industry experience to support day-to-day production engineering activities. This is a hands-on and strategic role ideal for someone who enjoys improving processes, leading quality initiatives, and supporting concurrent engineering projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert on manufacturing and assembly operations, working closely with design, projects, quotations, and production teams. The position is a great opportunity for someone looking to drive impact, develop standardised processes, and act as a key contributor to long-term manufacturing efficiency and readiness.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide daily engineering support to manufacturing teams and resolve production challenges

Create and maintain routings, standard work instructions, and manufacturing documentation

Support resolution of quality notifications, root cause analysis, and corrective actions

Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects, Kaizen, and Lean initiatives

Develop and improve tooling, fixtures, and gauges to support manufacturing
-
Collaborate with design and project teams to ensure manufacturability of new and existing products
-
Approve manufacturing documents, drawings, and technical reviews as the manufacturing authority
-
Act as quality improvement lead and mentor for junior engineers and technicians
-
Translate customer and project requirements into practical, cost-effective solutions
-
Perform manufacturing readiness tasks and gap analysis against industry standards
-
Support procurement and management of shop tools, equipment, and CAPEX initiatives
-
Coach and train others in manufacturing and design-for-manufacture (DFx) best practices
-
Monitor and update manufacturing metrics to drive performance improvements

Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and integrate safety into all engineering tasks
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or equivalent)

Minimum 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in the oil and gas or subsea sectors

Strong working knowledge of assembly processes, pressure systems, and manufacturing schematics

Proficient in CAD systems and manufacturing databases; able to read and create technical drawings

Advanced understanding of tolerance standards (GD&T, ASME, ISO) and manufacturing specifications

Familiarity with industry standards such as ASTM, ASME IX, API, and NACE is a strong advantage

Demonstrated experience in process design, cost analysis, and engineering problem-solving

Knowledge of manufacturing readiness levels (MRL) and DFx principles
-
Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate technical ideas clearly across functions

A proactive and self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently or in teams
