JOB DESCRIPTION
Lead Load Expert Engineer is the expert reference for all load-related subjects. Accountable for leading load-related activities across development, design, and operational phases of offshore wind projects. Ensures technical integrity, supports operational excellence, drives innovation and foments continuous improvement to optimize asset performance and reduce cost. Inspires colleagues. Acts as a bridge between internal departments, external turbine OEMs and foundation teams.
- Drive load-related workstreams in early-phase projects
Collaborate with Primary Structures, WTG, Geotechnical, Metocean, TPM's and Principal Engineers
Evaluate turbine & support structure loading
Scope, plan, and coordinate resources for technical tasks and projects
Conduct technical due diligence with turbine manufacturers
Build and maintain strong supplier and partner relationships
Align technical requirements with project needs
Technical owner of key contract documents - Employer's Requirements (Polarion)
Lead resolution of structural integrity, power upgrade, and lifetime-extension opportunities
Provide technical expertise to operational teams
Owns one or more TA3 areas within Structural Loads.
Identify and frame new technical scopes and opportunities
Capture and share lessons learned across projects
Develop solutions and methods to reduce LCOE
Skills:
- More than 7 years of experience in the subject of aeroelasticity and structural dynamics of offshore wind turbines.
Experience with large complex projects.
Knowledge and understanding of:
- Design of wind turbines, and their offshore support structure
Aerodynamic and structural dynamics of wind turbines, hydrodynamics, geotechnics, wind turbine control and load-control strategies
Aeroelastic modelling of offshore wind turbines
Load validation based on measurements.
Education:
A scientific or engineering degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) degree, technical discipline or equivalent, preferably with a project management education on top.
