Role Purpose
The Senior Lead Engineer - Process Safety provides technical leadership, guidance, and oversight of process safety activities across the full lifecycle of floating offshore facilities. The role ensures compliance with corporate standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements, while driving risk management and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate Process Safety Standards: Develop, review, and maintain corporate process safety procedures and standards to ensure consistent application of process safety management across all facilities.
- Technical Guidance: Provide expert process safety advice at corporate and global levels, ensuring practical, implementable guidance for managing Major Accident Hazards (MAHs).
- Safety Philosophies & Design Compliance: Prepare and review HSSE Design Philosophy and other process safety-related philosophies; ensure project proposals and designs comply with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
- Safety Studies & Deliverables: Define scope of work, perform technical evaluations, lead workshops, and deliver timely and accurate safety studies demonstrating risks are As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
- Safety Critical Elements (SCE) Management: Lead Bow-Tie workshops, define SCEs, review designs, track EPCI assurance tasks, and ensure SCEs are implemented per performance standards.
- Risk Consultant/Subcontractor Oversight: Coordinate and manage third-party risk consultants or subcontractors to ensure timely, budget-compliant risk assessments.
- Team Leadership: Guide process safety engineers in collecting data, reviewing risk assessments, preparing deliverables, and collaborating with other disciplines to ensure high-quality, accurate outputs.
- Performance & Compliance: Set and contribute to project/engineering performance goals, ensure regulatory compliance, attend audits, and resolve non-conformities to support safe and efficient operations.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in FPSO or floating offshore oil & gas environments.
- Proven track record in process safety engineering, risk assessment, and SCE management.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team guidance capabilities.
- Ability to operate in complex, multinational project environments and influence cross-disciplinary teams.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Willingness to relocate to Singapore.
