Job Title: Senior Instrumentation Engineer
Location: Onshore Qatar (Ras Laffan / Doha HQ)
Type: Three-year contract with potential extension
Working Schedule: 8–10 hours per day, Sunday to Thursday
Rotation: 12 weeks on / 2 weeks off (single status), 30 days annual leave (couple status)
Estimated Start Date: ASAP

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to plan and support Instrumentation and Fire & Gas (F&G) engineering activities during EPC and start-up phases of onshore assets. The role ensures project deliverables meet operational expectations for safety, operability, reliability, and maintainability throughout the facility lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Instrumentation and F&G engineering support including design reviews, SIL assessments, HAZOP participation, commissioning, start-up, failure analysis, and advanced troubleshooting.

  • Develop and implement surveillance and administration programs for critical Instrument and F&G systems to achieve high standards of reliability, availability, and cyber security.

  • Support definition and implementation of integrity programs for Instrument and F&G systems to maintain safety, reliability, and availability.

  • Provide technical input to other disciplines to support overall business objectives.

  • Supervise contractors, consultants, and service providers.

  • Guide less experienced engineers in implementing integrity and reliability systems.

  • Facilitate smooth project tie-ins for systems under responsibility.

  • Maintain an issue register, identifying and resolving critical issues, including new technology risks affecting reliability, availability, and cyber security.

  • Support high-risk commissioning activities for complex, large-scale projects, including system surveillance, tuning and optimisation, and advisory support to Operations and Maintenance teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in the oil and gas sector.

  • Strong knowledge of DCS, PLCs, ESD/F&G systems, Anti-Surge Control Systems, Metering Systems, and Turbine/Compressor Control Systems.

  • Full understanding of SIL requirements and their implementation.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to supervise and mentor junior engineers.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Knowledge of operational safety and integrity standards in oil and gas facilities.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be willing to work on-site in Qatar.

  • Travel and relocation support provided as per project policy.
