JOB PURPOSE

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Instrumentation Engineer to play a key role in offshore brownfield projects within the oil and gas sector. This role focuses on detailed design, engineering, construction support, and commissioning of complex instrumentation systems in challenging brownfield environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design & Engineering

  • Develop and review instrumentation deliverables such as layouts, hook-up drawings, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and cause & effect matrices.
  • Prepare and review datasheets, technical specifications, and system documentation.
  • Select field instruments, control valves, analyzers, and bulk materials based on project requirements.
  • Conduct technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
  • Perform cable sizing and selection in line with system design.

Construction Support

  • Review IFC drawings, vendor documents, and construction method statements.
  • Provide field engineering support for installation, routing, terminations, junction boxes, and grounding systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, QA/QC requirements, and international codes.
  • Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and piping disciplines.

Brownfield Project Support

  • Conduct site surveys to identify tie-in points for new systems.
  • Support the development and feasibility review of shutdown work packs.
  • Identify and resolve site clashes by developing practical engineering solutions.
  • Ensure modifications comply with hazardous area classification and safety standards.

Commissioning & Testing

  • Lead installation, testing, inspection, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of instrumentation systems including DCS, ESD, PLC, F&G, SCADA, analyzers, and related infrastructure.
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure system integrity and operational readiness.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 12 years' relevant experience, with at least 3 years in offshore brownfield construction and commissioning projects.
  • Strong expertise in design and engineering of DCS, ESD, PLC, F&G, SCADA systems, and field instrumentation.
  • Skilled in developing and interpreting instrumentation drawings, datasheets, specifications, and reports.
  • Solid knowledge of international standards (IEC, ISA, IEEE, NEC, API, ATEX).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and experienced with flow measurement instrumentation in line with ISO standards.
  • Strong understanding of hazardous area requirements and safety classifications.
