Role Overview

The Senior Instrumentation Engineer will provide technical design and engineering services for instrumentation systems across multiple projects. The role covers all phases of project delivery, from concept definition and FEED through detailed design, commissioning, and handover. The engineer ensures compliance with industry codes, standards, and company procedures while delivering quality, schedule, and cost objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years post-graduate experience in instrumentation engineering
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality across multiple projects
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation engineering standards and codes
  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical design and engineering services for instrumentation systems in assigned projects
  • Conduct in-house site surveys and engineering activities from concept definition to FEED, detailed design, and commissioning
  • Ensure technical assurance practices, engineering standards, and safety and environmental policies are applied throughout engineering activities
  • Review technical deviations and variations against approved guidelines, codes, and standards
  • Support the review, update, and application of internal engineering standards and amendments to external standards
  • Plan and coordinate the activities of multi-discipline engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of technical services
  • Develop, review, and coordinate multi-disciplinary work scopes for projects and engineering activities
  • Review and approve method statements from contracted organisations and resolve technical issues as required
  • Develop and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, supporting FEED/EPIC scheduling and overall project delivery
  • Evaluate technical bid packages for scope compliance
  • Review and assess contract changes and variations against approved guidelines and standards
  • Support the development of personal and team technical competencies, including structured training for junior engineers
