Overview

An established energy operator is seeking a Senior Instrument Technician to join the Area Maintenance Team for instrument systems. This role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of field instrumentation, ensuring operational reliability, safety, and compliance across the facility.

The successful candidate will contribute to a culture of safety excellence, technical competence, and operational efficiency while supporting field and turnaround maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a ‘Goal Zero’ mindset and visible safety leadership; actively participate in safety walkdowns and share observations and lessons learned

  • Comply with company code of conduct, HSSE procedures, and Permit to Work requirements

  • Report to the Instrument Supervisor and ensure competency and training requirements are completed within prescribed timelines

  • Support the WALP/Job Competency program under guidance from coach or supervisor

  • Complete mandatory COMPEX training to perform routine maintenance independently

  • Maintain and upgrade technical competence and participate in Instrument Maintenance Smart Systems, including NISS and PCD compliance

  • Execute field instrumentation maintenance tasks accurately and efficiently, including assigned turnaround activities

  • Record and share maintenance feedback, ensuring correct data entry in the CMMS (SAP)

  • Participate in ME processes to achieve team KPIs such as CM/PM compliance, scheduled attainment, and accurate SAP history coding

  • Support QA/QC assurance processes for instrument maintenance in field and workshop environments

  • Participate in the call-out duty roster and respond to urgent maintenance requirements

  • Report spare parts issues to supervisor and follow up to resolution

  • Coordinate with other disciplines and departments to ensure high-quality maintenance execution

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Instrument Technician in industrial or oil and gas environments

  • Strong knowledge of field instrumentation maintenance practices, preventive and corrective maintenance procedures

  • Competence in using CMMS systems (preferably SAP) for maintenance tracking and reporting

  • Commitment to safety and compliance standards in all work activities

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Experience with turnaround and scheduled maintenance activities
