Scope of Work
Join a dynamic Environment (ENV) team as a subject matter expert for environmental impact assessment (EIA). The primary goal is to assess and control the impacts from oil and gas activities prior to commencement as part of the activity approval process. This applies to all planned field activity, from minor changes to major projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards. You will manage the preparation and submission of EIA documentation by third parties, liaise with authorities, coordinate regulatory processes, and support wider ENV and HSE initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage preparation and submission of EIA documentation.
- Prepare and submit small Environmental Statements.
- Oversee/support ENV team peers assisting with EIA documentation.
- Oversee and collaborate with external consultants for larger Environmental Impact Screening and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments.
- Communicate with Project team members, participate in Project progress meetings, and integrate environmental requirements.
- Review consultant drafts and coordinate completion for regulatory submission.
- Revise documents in response to regulator and stakeholder feedback.
- Advise and integrate with senior management for environmental project delivery and performance.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and coordinate EIA documentation through approval processes.
- Engage stakeholders and respond to environmental issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with HQ and affiliates to develop environmental and biodiversity information for EIAs, reporting, and management.
- Assist with the external environmental consultant tendering process.
- Provide technical input into HSE-related project documentation and key management system documents.
- Present and communicate the significance of the EIA process to internal audiences.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in a technical field (preferably Environmental Science, Ecology, or Biology).
- Danish language skills are a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in EIA and environmental management, including:
- Marine environment and offshore projects.
- Planning, coordinating, preparing, and reviewing EIAs.
- Managing external consultants to meet contract requirements and deliverables.
- Communication with regulatory authorities, project teams, and stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of national/international environmental legislation, especially Danish regulatory procedures.
- Strong organizational, time management, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer skills, proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
