Position Title: Senior Environment Site Engineer
Location: Qatar
Duration: 5 Years
Reports To: HSE Manager
Position Overview:
The Senior Environment Site Engineer is responsible for implementing and overseeing environmental management activities for Major Projects. The role ensures compliance with QAFCO’s Environmental policies, relevant legal requirements, and project-specific environmental standards. The position monitors on-site environmental performance, identifies potential risks, drives corrective actions, and promotes a culture of sustainability and environmental awareness.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and project standards

Identify, assess, and mitigate environmental risks specific to ammonia and urea production

Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and surveillance, and track closure of non-conformances

Support HSE Manager in achieving environmental compliance and promoting best practices on-site

Maintain environmental documentation, including permits, monitoring logs, and reports

Prepare environmental compliance reports for Project Management and regulatory authorities

Participate in engineering and cross-functional reviews (QRA, HAZID, HAZOP, EIA) to ensure environmental considerations are integrated

Support permitting processes and ensure timely fulfillment of environmental permit conditions

Promote environmental awareness among project personnel through training and engagement
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline

Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience, with at least 3–5 years in major projects

Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and project environmental management

Proven ability to monitor, report, and drive environmental compliance on large-scale projects

Professional certifications in environmental management or HSE (preferred)
