We're looking for an experienced Senior Engineer - Wind Turbine Systems to take the technical lead on turbine procurement, assessment, and due diligence across a diverse portfolio of wind energy projects. This is a high-impact role interfacing with engineering, commercial, and development teams to shape the future of sustainable power delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Leadership & Procurement Support

  • Serve as technical lead for wind turbine generator (WTG) procurement during project development phases
  • Lead the preparation of technical specifications for turbine supplier tenders
  • Evaluate and negotiate technical aspects of supplier offers and contracts
  • Oversee technical due diligence and coordinate with internal teams on selected turbine technologies
  • Maintain risk and opportunity registers for selected WTGs and associated systems

Cross-functional Coordination

  • Act as a key technical interface to commercial teams (valuation, finance, insurance, etc.)
  • Align project requirements with cross-functional stakeholders including construction and operations teams
  • Support technical evaluations and site suitability reviews with turbine suppliers and consultants

Innovation & Performance

  • Plan and support power performance testing during project execution
  • Conduct ongoing industry research to identify and assess new WTG technologies
  • Contribute to development of in-house tools, methods, and processes to drive technical excellence

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to improve procurement and engineering workflows
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by challenging existing processes
  • Support knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in wind turbine technology, project engineering or technical procurement
  • Strong understanding of turbine systems including blades, drivetrains, controls, generators, and towers
  • Experience in technical contract negotiation and supplier assessment
  • Familiarity with global WTG standards (IEC61400 series, DNV guidelines, etc.)
  • Excellent project management, organisational, and communication skills
  • Experience with wind resource assessment tools is advantageous
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (<25%)

Work Environment

  • Hybrid schedule with office presence expected three days per week
  • Occasional travel to field sites or other office locations as required
  • The role involves standard office-based tasks with occasional standing and walking during site visits
