Senior Electrical Engineer - Remote/Hybrid
Location: Remote, with travel to Manchester, Birmingham, or London depending on candidate location

A leading engineering organisation is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to focus on transmission and distribution projects. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid arrangement, with occasional travel required to one of the company's offices based on your location. There is a clear career path to develop into Principle level, with a strong pipeline of major projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed Protection & Control designs under an agreed design authority
- Interpret client specifications and prepare comprehensive technical documentation and Bills of Quantities
- Technically review supplier quotations to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Produce and check design calculations, drawings, and secondary system designs
- Participate actively in design reviews, checks, and design risk assessments
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and support other designers to ensure quality delivery
- Assist construction teams with specialist input on substation automation and secondary systems
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to deliver compliant and constructible designs
- Mentor and support junior engineers through knowledge sharing and review
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in delivering design for 440kV systems
- Deep knowledge of protection schemes, substation automation, and secondary systems
- Experience working within multi-discipline teams and coordinating with suppliers and contractors
- Practical, safety-conscious approach to delivering commercially aware engineering solutions
