Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Onshore Qatar (Ras Laffan / Doha HQ)

Type: Three-year contract with potential extension

Working Schedule: 8-10 hours per day, Sunday to Thursday

Estimated Start Date: ASAP

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical expertise across electrical engineering activities for onshore operations and start-up projects. The role supports projects, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general electrical engineering support to projects, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings and schematics, including single-line diagrams, switchgear, transformers, relays, UPS, motors, generators, and protective devices.
  • Apply electrical theory to calculate power system parameters such as active/reactive power, power factor, synchronous speed, load factor, and diversity factor.
  • Familiarity with electrical standards (IEC) and safe work practices for hazardous areas.
  • Provide information and technical guidance to project management regarding current operations and maintenance practices.
  • Support and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for project deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies and regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in an oil and gas engineering environment.
  • Competency at Electrical Engineer level according to standard technical competencies.

Skills and Competencies

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Proficient in relevant software tools and office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety practices, hazardous area classification, and arc flash awareness.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be willing to work on-site in Qatar.
  • Travel and relocation support provided as per project policy.
