About the Role
An established engineering organisation is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to support major transmission and distribution projects in London. You will play a key role in detailed design and construction support, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver detailed Protection and Control design under an agreed design authority

Interpret technical specifications and prepare engineering documentation and Bills of Quantities

Review supplier quotations and ensure alignment with technical and project requirements

Produce and check design calculations, drawings, and secondary system designs

Participate in design reviews, verification processes, and design risk assessments

Provide technical guidance to engineers and support external designers to ensure quality delivery

Support construction and commissioning teams with specialist input on substation automation and secondary systems

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs are compliant and buildable

Mentor and support junior engineers through technical review and knowledge sharing
Requirements

Proven experience delivering electrical design for high-voltage transmission systems (up to 400kV or equivalent)

Strong understanding of protection schemes, substation automation, and secondary systems

Experience working within multidisciplinary project environments

Ability to engage effectively with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders

Practical, safety-focused approach to engineering delivery with commercial awareness

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
