Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer or Coordinator

Contract Duration: 6 months

Location: Karratha, site-based

Site Requirement: FIFO 2/1 roster. Working 10.5 hr days plus 30mins unpaid break

Start Date: ASAP

Reporting To: Project Commissioning Manager

Key Experience:

- Strong commissioning experience on a greenfields site

- Electrical power system commissioning and handover

- Leadership attributes, driving commissioning schedule

- Client commissioning focal point

- EPCM experience

- Strong stakeholder engagement ability

Position Purpose:

- Responsible for safe and effective execution of all commissioning activities for the onshore portfolio, as directed by the Commissioning Manager

- Promote QHSE awareness, ensuring safe working and behaviour during the site campaign

- Direct and lead construction disciplines and all commissioning activities for projects

Main Accountabilities:

Electrical System Accountability:

- Lead electrical power system commissioning

- WP execution management

- Engineering support including fault finding

- Start-up readiness and technical support for power system

- Power system handover management

- Power cut-over system transition

General Accountability:

- Participate in schedule and execution development to ensure realistic and achievable schedules

- Take accountability for manning plan and participate in discipline team selection and recruitment

- Provide direction, guidance, and leadership to team members

- Promote QHSE behaviors and culture to achieve targets

- Ensure hazard assessments and Job Safety Analysis completed to project requirements

- Effectively manage, coordinate, and communicate scope and schedule requirements to work teams

- Liaise and coordinate with management and onshore support teams to drive commissioning schedule

- Assign resources to WP creation and expedite work packages

- Expedite resource, material, tool, and equipment requirements

- Input/review manhour/duration estimation for site schedule activities

- Expedite Software FATs

- Review and approval of sparing; provide applicable spares registers for RFI milestones and expedite procurement/logistics

- Review Supplier documentation, especially around FAT/onshore SAT procedures

- Expedite and input to Vendor mobilisation contracts

- Interface with commissioning focal points and Project PIC for technical discussions

- Organise, prepare, and implement Pre-commissioning & Commissioning HAZID, including presentation and reporting

- Monitor and expedite punch closure

- Review and revise CCLBDs as required

- Attend meetings for progress, information, and actioning

- Provide input and estimation for VO creation and submittals

- Provide input to progress reporting

Skills and Experience

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant trade certification

Knowledge/Skills:

- Proven track record in planning, preparing, and executing onshore commissioning scopes and/or shutdowns

- Knowledge of multi-discipline specifications, rules, and regulations

- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams

- Sound commercial acumen

- Familiarity with blue collar industrial relations management

Experience:

- Minimum 8 years' experience in onshore Oil and Gas Projects, preferably from an Electrical background

- Strong greenfield onshore facilities, construction, and commissioning expertise

- Experienced discipline commissioning engineer

- Demonstrated QHSE leadership

- Proven record managing schedule changes

- Experience with identification, definition, and requisitioning of materials, tools, and consumables

- Experience in PTW and hazard assessment
