Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation Engineer to support plant operations and drive reliability, safety, and performance improvements across electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.
This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of plant assets, leading maintenance and improvement initiatives, supporting capital projects, and providing technical leadership to engineering and maintenance teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in achieving operational excellence through effective maintenance strategies, process optimisation, and continuous improvement programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance

Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance.

Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and site safety procedures.

Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, company procedures, and local regulations.
Maintenance & Reliability

Ensure the reliability and availability of electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.

Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programmes.

Manage electrical, instrumentation, and automation improvement projects.
-
Support root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
-
Manage critical spare parts and inventory requirements.
-
Support turnaround and shutdown planning, coordination, and execution activities.

Lead management of change processes related to electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.

Monitor maintenance budgets and cost performance.
-
Drive reliability improvements and equipment performance initiatives.
Automation & Control Systems

Maintain and optimise PLC, DCS, SCADA, and control system performance.

Support control system troubleshooting, upgrades, and optimisation projects.

Ensure control systems remain reliable, secure, and aligned with operational requirements.

Support automation improvement and digital transformation initiatives.

Assist with integration of operational technology and plant information systems.
Leadership & Team Development

Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and technicians.

Develop team capabilities and technical competencies.

Support troubleshooting and emergency response activities.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Quality & Continuous Improvement

Ensure maintenance and project activities are delivered to the required quality standards.

Maintain control system integrity and reliability.

Support process stability and performance improvement initiatives.

Ensure documentation, control logic, and configuration management standards are maintained.
Requirements
-
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum 10 years of experience within industrial manufacturing, petrochemical, chemical processing, FMCG, or similar industries.

Proven experience with electrical, instrumentation, automation, and plant reliability systems.

Strong knowledge of:

Medium and low voltage electrical systems

Motors, drives, and electrical protection systems

Instrumentation systems including flow, pressure, temperature, and analyser equipment

PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI systems

Industrial communication protocols

Functional safety systems and SIL concepts

Electrical protection and power quality

Industrial cybersecurity and control systems security

Experience managing maintenance programmes, shutdowns, and capital projects.

Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.

Experience managing contractors, vendors, and service providers.

Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred Experience

Experience within gas processing, industrial gases, petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.
