Assignment Type: Part Time Contract (50% FTE)

Work Schedule: Nearly 100% site presence required during working hours

Role Overview
The business unit requires an experienced EHS Manager to support its strategic EHS obligations. Responsibilities include managing legal compliance, enhancing EHS systems, supporting leadership teams, enabling safe operations in labs and pilot lines, and acting as the primary point of contact for product stewardship and ESG topics.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensuring EHS Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with legal and corporate EHS obligations (safety and environmental legislation, possible role of Prevention Advisor)
- Act as liaison among site stakeholders and SLA owners
- Prepare, execute, and monitor annual EHS action plan, reporting progress to management
- Validate EHS compliance of all processes, installations, equipment, and operations
- Follow up on ISO 14001 certification system (2026-2030)
- Contribute to long-term EHS and ESG strategy
- Responsible for internal/external emergency planning, SEVESO-related topics, and obligations
- Maintain contact with relevant stakeholders

- EHS System Management
- Drive continuous improvement of EHS management systems
- Conduct internal audits and represent the business during QEHS audits
- Maintain ISO 14001 & ISO 9001 certification requirements
- Define and monitor QEHS KPIs in line with company and BU strategy
- Act as key user for action management system, MOC, incident investigation, etc.
- Serve as EHS interface for external stakeholders

- Communication & Leadership
- Coach, motivate, and challenge managers and teams for full EHS compliance in lab and pilot operations
- Define training needs and ensure EHS development
- Lead clear and accurate EHS communication, including townhalls and company-wide events
- Support management in people-related communications
- Manage digital communication channels

- Product Stewardship & ESG
- Act as main contact for product stewardship and ESG-related queries
- Ensure global product safety regulation compliance (e.g., REACH)
- Maintain and update SDS for products, assess supplier SDS for compliance, and manage related processes

- Team Activation & Operational Support
- Guide teams in executing safety-related actions
- Support operational teams hands-on during scale-up processes

Technical Requirements

- University or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field (chemistry, physics, metallurgy)
- At least 5 years' experience as EHS Manager or Prevention Advisor Level 1
- Experience in an industrial (process/chemical) environment
- Familiarity with ISO and EHS-related quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
- Scientific background and understanding of product behavior desired
- Knowledge of SDS/IPDS database, MSDS request tools, CLP labelling, and EHS software tools is a plus
- Comfortable in multi-stakeholder, complex organizations and across cultures
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Photoshop, Publisher
