The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Diving Specialist to contribute to high-profile offshore renewable energy projects. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge operations, ensuring world-class safety, compliance, and efficiency in underwater activities. You’ll play a critical role in supporting multiple project phases, from tendering through to close-out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support risk owners through all project phases.

  • Provide expert guidance and technical support throughout planning, pre-mobilisation, mobilisation, execution, and post-operation diving activities.

  • Ensure full compliance with national diving legislation, company policies, industry standards (IMCA, IOGP), and guidelines.

  • Review risk assessments, project plans, diving equipment maintenance records, and personnel qualifications.

  • Confirm diving contractors have conducted emergency recovery drills and meet readiness requirements.

  • Liaise with relevant authorities to secure permits for offshore diving operations.

  • Conduct daily reviews of dive logs and subsea video recordings for safety and quality control.

  • Perform inspections at offshore sites, vessels, subcontractor premises, and related locations.

  • Interface with contractors and stakeholders to address diving HSE matters proactively.

  • Participate in HIRA sessions, incident investigations, and corporate learning initiatives.

  • Analyse dive statistics to identify improvement opportunities and recommend solutions.

  • Act as the focal point for technical and operational support during daily offshore activities.

Working Conditions

  • Standard office hours with occasional extended or unsociable hours based on project needs.

  • Onshore and offshore work environments.

  • Regular travel to offshore sites, vessels, subcontractor facilities, and project locations.

Requirements

  • IMCA Air or Saturation Diving Supervisor or IMCA Auditor certification.

  • Minimum 15 years of managerial diving experience within renewables or oil & gas sectors.

  • Thorough knowledge of IMCA ACOPs, IOGP diving recommended practices, and national diving legislation.

  • Strong technical expertise in subsea installations, cable interventions, surveys, and inspections.

  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience as Diving Advisor or Diving Operations Manager.

  • Well-versed in underwater construction and inspection techniques and equipment.

  • Familiarity with international diving guidelines (IMCA, IOGP, IMO, UK HSE ACOP).

  • Proficiency in standard IT tools (Excel, Word, SAP preferred).

  • Ability to analyse data, anticipate issues, and implement preventive measures.

  • Flexible to travel and work extended hours as required.
