Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Digital Project Engineer to lead the development and deployment of a Safety Barrier Degradation Monitoring Tool. In this hybrid technical-strategic role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of a digital product aimed at enhancing the organization’s integrity and major risk management systems. You will act as the product owner and business representative within a cross-functional Agile squad of internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Technical

Deliver bow-tie diagrams and associated Probability of Failure on Demand (PFD) values aligned with OREDA.

Ensure accuracy and reliability of field modification impact assessments and their implications on asset integrity.

Provide sound technical recommendations on major risk assurance and promote integrity management principles throughout the organization.

Represent the IMR function in risk-related technical reviews.
Strategic
-
Define and own the product vision and long-term roadmap for the monitoring tool.

Engage with business sponsors and users to test, validate, and refine product requirements and solutions.

Promote user adoption and facilitate post-deployment support, bug resolution, and continuous improvement.

Maximize product value from development to deployment, including UX/user-centered design.
Tactical
-
Deliver the assigned use case per defined statement of requirements and agreed timeline.

Collaborate across organizational boundaries, involving internal departments and external technology/consulting partners.

Support the Scrum Master to optimize team performance within Agile development cycles.

Manage stakeholder expectations and coordinate feedback during design and implementation phases.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering.

Experience:
-
Minimum 15 years’ total experience in upstream oil and gas.

At least 3 years focused on safety engineering and technical integrity.

Familiarity with EPC environments and large asset operations.

Certifications: Functional Safety Certification (preferred); certified HAZOP Leader.

Technical Expertise:

Scenario-based risk assessment, QRA, FERA, SECEs, performance standards, bowtie methodologies.

Strong understanding of IOGP standards and OREDA reliability databases.

Digital & Agile:

Experience in Agile development and UX principles.

Comfortable operating in digital product squads.

Team & Reporting Structure

Functionally reports to the Head of Product Owners for all Digital Product Governance matters.

Reports to the Business Manager regarding performance, training, and career development.

Leads a squad of ~6 people, including internal staff, contractors, and external consultants/tech partners.
