Senior Cost Engineer
Location: Qatar
Role Purpose
Responsible for implementing and overseeing project cost control, reporting, forecasting, and cost analysis across major project phases to support effective management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, verify, and report project budgets, commitments, VOWD, forecasts, and contingency usage

Monitor and review contractor cost reporting to ensure compliance with project procedures

Analyse contractor cost data, change orders, trends, and support assessment of contractor claims

Review and validate invoices, progress payments, timesheets, and equipment usage to ensure proper cost control

Support preparation of annual budget forecasts for internal budgeting cycles

Establish and maintain Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), and CTRs
-
Prepare monthly cost reports including budget status, VOWD, commitments, final forecast, trend analysis, and cost phasing/S-curves

Develop and manage AFE and cost centre structures for accurate cost allocation

Track and report Owners' costs to ensure full cost visibility and accuracy

Calculate project progress using progress reports, deliverable registers, CTRs, and other documentation
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
-
Minimum 8 years’ experience in project cost engineering within large-scale projects (onshore/offshore, brownfield and greenfield)

Proficient in MS Excel and SAP

Knowledge of stage-gate project delivery processes
