Senior Contracts Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Engineer to provide expert support in contract execution for offshore and onshore projects. This senior role involves managing tendering, contract administration, and compliance from project inception to close-out, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and within corporate and legal frameworks.
Key Responsibilities

Provide practical expertise to project teams on all contractual matters, from tendering to contract close-out.

Review and advise on Statements of Requirements (SORs), pre-qualification documents, invitations to tender, and evaluation criteria.

Recommend appropriate tendering and bidding processes based on project scope and complexity.

Assess scopes of work/services, identify contractual gaps, and verify completeness of technical information.

Ensure risk assessments are included in tender documents and mitigation measures are addressed.

Track and respond to queries from tenderers, ensuring timely issuance of clarifications and bulletins.

Participate in mid-tender meetings, site visits, and face-to-face discussions with bidders.

Support technical evaluation of bids, ensuring compliance with contractual, commercial, and technical requirements.

Lead commercial evaluations, analyse proposals, prepare tabulations and reports, and coordinate with evaluation teams.

Ensure tendering processes are fair, ethical, and consistent with corporate policies, guidelines, and procedures.

Prepare, review, and finalise contract documents in consultation with project sponsors and relevant departments.

Provide ongoing support during contract execution, including correspondence, bonds, insurances, and change management.

Critically review and support preparation of change requests, evaluate contractor proposals, and ensure timely approvals.

Oversee contract close-out processes, including completion certificates, final accounts, contractor performance evaluations, and discharge certificates.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; postgraduate qualifications in Contract Management or Project Management are desirable.

Minimum 12 years of multi-disciplinary experience in contract execution, including at least 6 years in offshore tenders/contracts for process, living quarters, compressors, wellhead platforms, and associated subsea systems.

Extensive experience in all aspects of tendering and contract management for complex offshore projects (Feasibility/Concept Studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, EPIC).

Strong knowledge of contracting strategies, prequalification, scope preparation, tender clarifications, contract negotiation, variations, and claims management.

Sound understanding of contract law and proficiency in contractual correspondence, report writing, and problem-solving.

Familiarity with EPIC/EPCM/LSTK contracts and related consultancy or construction contracts.

Proficient with contract analysis tools and software; experience with SAP MM-ES preferred.
