Job Summary
The Senior Contracts and Commercial Director leads contract negotiations and management, develops andimplements commercial strategies, and oversees risk management and performance monitoring. They managebudgets, resolve disputes, ensure compliance, and conduct market analysis. Additionally, they lead and mentora team to drive business growth and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities 1
- Lead the negotiation, drafting, and management of contracts to ensure favorable terms and compliance withlegal requirements.
- Create and implement commercial strategies that align with organizational goals and drive business growth.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks associated with contracts and projects.
- Oversee the performance of contracts, ensuring all parties meet their contractual obligations and keyperformance indicators (KPIs).
- Manage budgets related to contracts and commercial activities, ensuring cost efficiency and financialperformance.
- Handle contract disputes and claims, working to resolve issues amicably and minimize financial and operationalimpacts.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and address anycommercial concerns.
- Ensure all commercial activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Perform market analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential businessopportunities.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Practical use of the various Forms of Contract Conditions such as FIDIC or other related/bespoke documents.
- Knowledge of Contract and Tender requirements, guidelines and procedures. Knowledge of latest QatarSpecifications (QCS).
- Experience managing large commercial negotiations for complex, high profile projects. Significant technicalexpertise pertaining to contracts, contract formulation, and negotiations.
- Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes. Expert knowledge of contractingconcepts, uniform commercial codes and applicable local law and regulations
- ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role
Job Experience
- Minimum 15 year(s) working experience, 10 year(s) in a relevant management/leadership position, 5 year (s)GCC is a plus
Education
- Master's degree in Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Pubic Administration or business administration, and other related field or Contract Management
