Job Title: Senior Construction Supervisor - Electrical & Instrumentation

Location: Qatar

Overview

A leading energy infrastructure project is seeking a Senior Construction Supervisor - Electrical & Instrumentation to oversee all on-site construction and installation activities. The role involves managing contractors, ensuring high-quality execution, and supporting pre-commissioning and commissioning of building services and infrastructure systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and control all Electrical & Instrumentation works across building services and infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, end users, asset holders, and other discipline supervisors.
  • Assist in contractor mobilization and demobilization activities.
  • Monitor project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation during the construction phase; identify slippages and recommend optimisations.
  • Review construction method statements, inspection & test plans, pre-commissioning procedures, and endorse red-mark drawings and project dossiers.
  • Control and endorse work permits, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, project safety plans, and corporate/environmental requirements.
  • Inspect construction works and materials in accordance with quality plans and inspection/test procedures.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly progress meetings; update daily and weekly construction progress reports and verify contractor progress statements.
  • Prepare, categorize, and monitor punch lists, ensuring contractors address all items prior to handover.
  • Support and coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Assist with mechanical completion certificates and the operational/final handover of facilities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Higher National Diploma, Bachelor's, or equivalent in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Relevant courses in Safety, Quality Control, or Construction practices are advantageous.
  • Minimum 15 years of onshore or offshore Electrical & Instrumentation construction experience in Oil & Gas.
  • Experience with HV/MV/LV networks, lighting & earthing systems, power protection systems, AC/DC UPS, cathodic protection, process/control systems, fire & gas systems, BMS/CCTV/PA-VA, ACS & HVAC control systems.
  • Experienced in FAT/SAT testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning works.
  • Strong supervisory, planning, coordination, and reporting skills.
  • Good command of English (written and verbal) and the ability to work in multicultural teams.
