Job Title: Senior Commissioning Engineer
Location: Doha, Qatar - Offshore Projects
Work Schedule: 5 days per week (may require extended field hours)
Job Purpose
Lead and manage commissioning activities for offshore oil and gas projects, ensuring systems and equipment are installed, tested, and commissioned according to project requirements, industry best practices, and organizational standards. Serve as the primary interface between the project team, contractors, and vendors for commissioning deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the organization as Commissioning Team Leader for assigned offshore projects.
- Review and provide feedback on contractor scopes of work related to pre-commissioning, commissioning, and completion activities.
- Lead pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up engineering support services, ensuring all activities comply with project procedures and industry best practices.
- Develop and implement the Commissioning Strategy and Plan in coordination with project stakeholders, including contractors and end users, and obtain necessary approvals.
- Prepare and oversee commissioning procedures for all systems and facilities, coordinating with contractors and the project team.
- Ensure the availability and allocation of the commissioning team and arrange necessary manpower support.
- Plan commissioning activities by system and subsystem, track progress, and ensure adherence to approved commissioning plans and project schedules.
- Develop and coordinate commissioning handover checklists and certificates; resolve system and equipment performance issues with contractors and vendors.
- Collaborate with construction, end-user, and contractor teams to coordinate punch listing activities and ensure closure of all commissioning items.
- Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), safety design reviews, and multidisciplinary engineering deliverables review.
- Contribute to standardization and improvement of commissioning procedures and deliverables.
- Provide reporting on commissioning progress, challenges, and completion status to the Head of Commissioning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- 12-14 years of experience in construction, installation, and commissioning within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven experience with offshore project commissioning and multi-discipline systems integration.
- Strong technical experience in commissioning F&G Systems, DCS, ICS, Power Management Systems, Instrument Air, Wellhead Control Systems, and other offshore critical systems.
- Experience implementing construction industry best practices, systems, processes, and standards.

- Proficiency with commissioning software such as ICAPS or equivalent.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate vendors, on-site teams, and contractors for commissioning activities.
- Knowledge of industry standards and project commissioning procedures.

- External: Contractors, Vendors, Suppliers, and service providers.
