For the Technology Department, we are looking for a Civil Project Engineer to work on a variety of projects.
The technology department supports the various production departments with technical advice and follows the entire cycle of these projects; from feasibility, through design and realization, to start-up. We distinguish ourselves by focusing on ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning from each other.
Project Description
The Civil Project Engineer will be assigned to industrial projects with a significant civil scope, supporting process and infrastructure teams. These projects include both new construction and upgrades to existing installations. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external contractors, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and timely delivery.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
The Civil Project Engineer will take the technical lead on civil engineering projects while also managing their execution. This dual role requires a strong engineering foundation combined with project management experience. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can independently drive projects and proactively manage risks.
- Lead the technical scope of civil projects, including design reviews, technical validation, and quality control.
- Manage project execution: define scope, develop schedules, monitor budgets, and coordinate resources.
- Serve as the main point of contact for civil works, liaising with architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and resolve technical issues.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, specifications, and drawings.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality standards.
- Identify and mitigate project risks through structured planning and proactive decision-making.
Secondary Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide technical support during procurement processes and contractor evaluations.
- Participate in project reviews, audits, and safety inspections.
- Coach junior engineers and support AutoCAD/REVIT designers.
Technical Profile Requirements
- Master's or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in civil engineering, with proven project management exposure.
- Strong knowledge of concrete calculations and industrial steel structures.
- Skilled in writing clear and comprehensive calculation notes.
- Able to balance technical depth with project coordination (approx. 50% engineering / 50% Management).
- Basic knowledge of structural calculation software (e.g., SCIA Engineer) is required.
- Additional knowledge in steel connection design, soil mechanics, fire safety engineering, or road and sewerage design is a strong asset.
- Experienced in consulting and interpreting drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, REVIT, and Navisworks.
- Familiar with EHS and quality systems in industrial environments.
- Experience with TMB-regulations is a plus
- Strong focus on safety throughout all project phases.
- Experience working with or for contractors (engineering or execution) is highly valued.

Methodology/Certification Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineer Technology equivalent.
- VCA-VOL certification is required.
Language Proficiencies
- Fluent in Dutch (spoken and written).
- Practical proficiency in English for technical documentation and safety discussions.
