Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage advanced R&D projects, guiding them from early-stage concept to delivery.

  • Design, develop, and characterise functional materials tailored for CO₂ capture and utilisation processes.

  • Troubleshoot complex scientific challenges, contributing innovative solutions to technical roadblocks.

  • Provide mentorship and leadership to junior scientists, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, academic researchers, and industrial partners to advance joint projects.

  • Review and refine technical reports, research proposals, and scientific data to ensure accuracy, rigour, and strategic impact.

  • Deliver scientific presentations, publish research findings, and actively engage in peer-reviewed communications.

  • Uphold compliance with internal controls, legal frameworks, and R&D best practice standards.


What You’ll Bring

  • PhD in Chemistry (or closely related discipline).

  • 5+ years’ post-PhD experience in relevant academic or industrial research settings.

  • Deep hands-on expertise in CO₂ capture, utilisation, or emissions reduction technologies.

  • Proven track record in designing, synthesising, and characterising novel functional materials.

  • Strong leadership in scientific problem-solving and innovation-driven project delivery.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.


Desirable

  • Experience working in collaborative industry-academia R&D projects.

  • Knowledge of industrial process scale-up, pilot plant operations, or applied decarbonisation technologies.

  • Familiarity with grant writing or securing funding from national and international innovation programmes.
