JOB TITLE: Senior AWS Platform Engineer

LOCATION: Warsaw, Poland

CLIENT: Leading Global Green Energy Major – Wind

CONTRACT LENGTH: 31st March 2026 to 30th October 2026 (Option to extend)

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Minimum 2 days per week in the Warsaw office; fully remote work not allowed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer in the AWS IPL, you will drive the productization of AWS core services such as compute, storage, and databases. You will be responsible for designing, automating, and packaging AWS capabilities into reusable, compliant, and secure products that empower developers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Productise AWS native services: Design and build standardized, enterprise-ready cloud products (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, EFS, FSx, EKS, IAM)

  • Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and GitHub/GitOps pipelines

  • Embed governance and security: Integrate tagging, security, monitoring, and compliance into AWS products by design

  • Enable developers: Provide onboarding guides, training, and self-service templates to simplify cloud consumption

  • Foster collaboration with product owners, architects, and application teams to align AWS products with business and technical needs

  • Ensure operational excellence: Build resilience, cost optimisation, and observability into products from day one

REQUIREMENTS

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience with a variety of AWS services and enterprise governance patterns

  • Proficiency with Terraform, AWS AFT, or CloudFormation

  • Experience with GitHub Actions, GitOps, and CI/CD pipelines

  • Familiarity with SSM, Ansible, or similar automation tools

  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes/EKS

  • Understanding of identity management concepts (IAM, Entra ID, SSO, RBAC)

  • Knowledge of AWS networking concepts (VPC, subnets, routing, security groups, load balancers, hybrid connectivity)

  • Product mindset: Ability to package AWS services as reusable, secure, scalable products

  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts in business terms

  • Understanding of cloud security practices, including encryption, least privilege, secrets management, and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST)

  • Experience with observability tools (CloudWatch, Grafana) and KPI/SLI/SLO design

  • Cost awareness and optimisation across AWS services (e.g., Savings Plans, right-sizing, storage tiering)

  • Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework principles

  • Experience with agile and DevOps practices, including backlog management, sprint delivery, and continuous improvement

  • Leadership potential to mentor junior engineers and take ownership of AWS product streams

  • Strong code hygiene practices, including version control, peer reviews, testing, and adherence to coding standards
