About the Opportunity:
A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) – 400kV to join a landmark offshore wind project with one of the world’s foremost renewable energy developers. This long-term contract will begin with an onshore phase based in Grimsby, followed by an offshore rotation from 2026 onwards.
The role will play a critical part in ensuring the safe commissioning, operation, and maintenance of high-voltage infrastructure—including substations, offshore wind turbines, and associated cable systems. This is a key role in supporting the delivery of clean energy infrastructure in line with the UK’s renewable energy goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Implement electrical safety rules on site, ensuring robust safe systems of work.

Provide technical and operational advice on HV installations, including wind turbines, substations, and both submarine and onshore cables.

Manage the safe commissioning of grid connections and associated electrical infrastructure.

Oversee all MV/HV/LV operational activities, ensuring the integrity and security of the electrical network.

Act as operational lead for a full substation during construction and commissioning.

Coordinate electrical commissioning activities across all construction phases.

Support effective communication between contractors and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

Participate in on-call duties and emergency work as required.

Undertake GWO and HUET training (with CA-EBS), and complete medical fitness testing.
Mandatory Requirements:

Recognised electrical qualification aligned with SAP responsibilities at 400kV.

Proven experience in high-voltage commissioning and operational environments.

At least 3 years of hands-on experience in onshore substation systems.

Offshore experience in the wind or energy sector is highly desirable.

Valid and up-to-date GWO and HUET certifications (CA-EBS required for offshore work).

Must meet industry-standard physical requirements for offshore work, including a maximum climbing gear weight limit of 120kg (264lbs).
Desirable Skills and Attributes:

Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office tools.

Physically capable of lifting up to 23kg (50lbs).

Excellent coordination and communication skills.

Willingness to support and mentor junior team members.

Adaptable to both onshore and offshore working environments.

Able to operate effectively in emergency or adverse weather conditions.
