Job Title: Finance and Accounting Specialist (Malaysia)

Location: Malaysia Head Office with occasional travel to Korea

Contract: 1-year contract (possibility of permanent conversion)

Nationality / Language Preference: Malaysian candidates only; Mandarin proficiency preferred

Overview
A leading multinational organisation is seeking a Finance and Accounting Specialist to manage full sets of accounts for its Malaysia and Korea operations. This hands-on role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to work in a complex multinational environment with regional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities – Malaysia Head Office

  • Manage full sets of accounts including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and month-end closing activities such as accruals

  • Handle intercompany accounting, including notices of accruals and reconciliations

  • Prepare quarterly reports, including consolidation in ERP systems and compliance with IFRS standards

  • Coordinate audits with external auditors

  • Ensure tax compliance including tax returns, estimates, withholding tax, service tax, and transfer pricing

  • Submit quarterly regulatory reporting and statistical surveys

  • Support the implementation of new e-invoicing processes

Key Responsibilities – Korea Branch

  • Perform similar accounting functions as Malaysia operations

  • Coordinate invoice and expense claim approvals in line with company policies

  • Prepare VAT returns, corporate income tax returns, and other statutory reporting for the Korea branch

  • Liaise with branch HR on statutory payments for foreign personnel

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing full sets of accounts in a multinational environment

  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of autonomy and report to a regional finance manager

  • Comfortable navigating complex matrix organisations

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to Korea and/or Indonesia

  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Mandarin preferred
